All Day March 14, 2024 – December 31, 2024
Pope Francis has granted the favor of a plenary indulgence on the occasion of the Diocesan Golden Jubilee. The indulgence is granted to anyone who “visits the Cathedral Church of St. Thomas More on pilgrimage and there devoutly attend the sacred Jubilee celebrations, or at least for a suitable period of time offer prayers to God for the fidelity of the United States of America to its Christian calling, for the obtaining of priestly and religious vocations and for the institution of the human family to be defended.”
The individual is to conclude these prayers with the recitation of the Lord’s Prayer, the creed, and prayers to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
People are also required to fulfill the usual conditions for an indulgence, the reception of Holy Communion, sacramental confession, and to offer prayers for the intentions of our Holy Father. The favor of the indulgence is in effect through the end of this calendar year.
The plenary indulgence is granted to people who visit Burke Hall on the lower level of the cathedral as the renovations in the upper church continue.
