5 Craft Items That I Have Been Using Like CRAZY

Sometimes I just get on crafting kicks where I either keep making the same things over and over (like my wreath addiction of 2018) or I get stuck on a few different craft supplies that I have to use to make everything and anything. Right now, I’m on a craft supply kick.

I’ve been using the same craft supplies and obsessing over them. I could map their locations in Michael’s in my sleep.

Let me show you what I’ve been obsessing over and then you can share your craft product love in the comments below or on Facebook .

Resin – I LOVE Resin

Earlier this year I started playing with resin and I just can’t stop. I have a huge bag full of resin pieces that I’ve made but I’m not sure what I’m going to do with them yet. I made them to play around with different techniques.

I also have a few coasters that I’ve made with alcohol inks that I keep meaning to show you how to make but I need to take pictures of them first.

However I did share with you how to make these ADORABLE Resin Gummi Bear Necklaces . Did I mention they’re adorable? This would be a great craft project for bored teens this summer.

Fabric Paint

Most of you know that I love Fabric Creations Soft Fabric Ink by Plaid . While I like using HTV Vinyl on fabric, If I’m making something I want to last forever, I use fabric paint and a freezer paper stencil . This week I used fabric paint on a shirt that says, “I like big books and I cannot lie.” But… I messed it up too badly to show you. I still wear it because I’m classy like that.

potato print ideas

However, if you’re looking for projects to make with fabric paint, try Potato Print s (I love making potato prints) or your own DIY freezer paper stencil.

It’s really fun to play around with fabric paint and see what you can make.

Polymer Clay

Polymer Clay is fun. It’s the perfect mix of childhood playdough and adult creativity. When else can you sit down and play with dough and make it into something wonderful and permanent?

I’m still working on some tutorials to show you how to make your own jewelry using polymer clay or accents for home decor projects but if you want tips for working with polymer clay as a beginner, click here.

Canvases and Plywood

So this one seems a little bit crazy but if you follow me on Instagram , you know that I’ve been painting a lot using this style of whimsical painting .

I’ve been painting 1-2 paintings a week either on a sheet of plywood cut down to size or blank canvas, which mean that I’ve been buying a lot of those things. Plus the other day when I was at the craft store, they had all their canvases, including the wood panel canvases for 70% off – so I stocked up.

I’ve also been using a ton of paint, not to mention my paintbrushes that are taking over my desk, but I think it’s been worth it.

Cricut Explore Air

I don’t have a real picture of this one because then I would have to move the cat that has claimed it out of the way but I use my Cricut all the time.

Last week I made Father’s Day t-shirts , this weekend I made two signs for my mother-in-law and then I used it to cut out the “I Like Big Books and I Cannot Lie” shirt.

You would think that by now my mother-in-law would know not to give me free range on projects she asks me to make for her.

I get asked a lot what Cricut should people buy? I have an older Cricut Explore Air that works great! I love it and that was several machines ago. I would love a Cricut Maker but for the time being, I’m happy with my older machine that still kicks butt and makes funny alligator sniffing butt signs.

There you go, that’s 5 of the Craft Tools that I am using the most right now. I love all of them and have more tutorials planned for tutorials using these items.

Now I want to know… what’s the craft tool you can’t live without?
