My husband always asks me what I want for Christmas and I’m really tempted just to lead him into the craft store and with a large gesture of my hand simply say, “this”.  Anyone else with me?   Crafters and DIY enthusiasts are hard to buy for because we either want to make it ourselves or we’re picky about brands and styles.  But never fear, if you have creative people in your life that need a great christmas gift – here’s you some crafter / DIY Christmas gift ideas. *This post contains Amazon affiliate links. Thank you for helping support this site.*

The Splurge – An Electronic Cutting Machine

best-christmas-gifts-for-crafters If you are someone you know wants a top notch Christmas gift – go for an electronic cutting machine such as a  Cricut or Silhouette.  Honestly I struggled against getting one of these for years because you can do what it does by hand – you honestly can. But it takes forever to do it by hand and when you use a machine such as this you can use all that free time you have to do more.  Last year I finally caved and got a Cricut Explore Air . I use it so much that it stays in my living room so I can easily grab it. I used it last year to make personalized ornaments, make personalized gifts, create wooden signs and so much more.  I recommend the Cricut Explore Air simply because it’s what I’m used too. I’ve loved it and think you will as well.  Also don’t forget to buy them some vinyl or card stock so they can immediately start playing.

For the Wanna-Be DIYer – Power Tools

7 years ago for Valentine’s Day my husband bought me a jigsaw. He later told me that the cashier at Lowes looked at him like he had 15 heads when he told her it was for his wife for Valentine’s Day. Without a doubt it is on of my most used gifts and I am in love with it.  But it’s taken time to get used to using power tools. The jigsaw was a great way to get started.  So for someone that wants to start DIY projects, get them smaller and simpler power tools.  Here’s what I started on: jig-saw-for-beginners Jig saw – Get a smaller and inexpensive jig saw . Usually they’re a little slower and can’t cut as precise but for beginner it’s a great way to get introduced to a saw.  Dremel Tools –  91b0ixedhvl-_sx522_ Dremel is a great tool. It’s small and handheld. I’ve used it to carve rocks all the way down to sanding and shaping pinewood derby cars.  You can also use it on jewelry or small cutting projects.  Power Sander –  orbital-sander-great-fit-for-diyers Power sanders are fantastic tools to have for a beginner. Why? Because you’re going to make mistakes and sanders help erase those mistakes. Seriously. I’ve sanded down wood that I cut just a tad too long that I was too scared to cut again because I might take too much off.  It’s something that I use often and makes my job easier.

Smaller Gifts With Punch

Do you want to get them something that won’t break the bank or make you want to up your medical insurance like the jig saw up above?  How about a few of these smaller gifts that any crafter is guaranteed to love.craft-paint Craft Paint – What creative person wouldn’t love to open a box full of new paint? You can order a box set of craft paint on Amazon.com or just go to the craft store and throw some of their favorite colors into the cart. It’s a win-win situation.  510xgrzrh3l New glue guns – Creative people use glue guns for everything except applying false eyelashes (because oww).  Even if they have an old faithful glue gun, get them a fun funky little one. Now there’s a ton of fun patterns available when it comes to glue guns – like this pink zebra print glue gun 41srdjakd9l Woodburning ki t – Woodburning is really becoming popular again. If you know a crafter who likes to try their hand at everything, consider giving them a woodburning ki t and some wooden rounds to practice on. You never know, you might have given them their newest favorite hobby. Rotary Cutting Mat Rotary Cutting Mat and Tools – Rotary cutting is great for cutting paper, ribbon and fabric. It makes an ease of measuring items and getting a quick and straight cut.

For the Future Seamstress – A Sewing Machine

The best beginner sewing machine I get asked a lot what sewing machine I would recommend for beginners. This Brother Cs600i is the best sewing machine for beginners, in my opinion. It’s the machined I started on and trust me, I put it to the test! This machine can handle whatever you throw at it. Plus it has a ton of decorative stitches so it keeps even the most impatient kid or adult interested in learning to sew.

That’s a lot of great gift ideas for crafters and DIYers!
