Sugar scrub recipes Sugar scrubs are one of the easiest gifts that you’ll ever make that will make people think that you spent a lot of time or money on them. It’s almost shameful how easy they are but people think you’re giving them an ultra luxurious gift. Do you need a gift for a friend or significant other for Valentine’s Day? Good news – here’s several easy sugar scrub recipes. If you can stir sugar into your coffee when you’re barely awake in the morning than you can make these sugar scrub recipes.  If you have a bag of sugar and a gentle oil such as coconut or grapeseed oil, you’re halfway done. Actually you’re probably more than halfway done. The basis of any sugar scrub recipe is oil and sugar. After you get your base then you add in a scent, coloring and any natural elements such as crushed dried lavender or finely ground oats.  Once you have all of your items, you simply stir them well in a big bowl before transferring them to a small jar.  Making sugar scrubs really is that simple.  But you don’t have to take my word for it.  Here’s some sugar scrub recipes from my home and from a few other trusted sources; Gingerbread Sugar Scrub
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup oil (coconut or grapeseed)
  • 1/2 cup coarsely ground oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
Mix ingredients well and place in a glass jar. Mint Sugar Scrub
  • 1 and 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • several drops of peppermint essential oil
  • 1 – 2 drops of green food dye
If you don’t have peppermint essential oil you can use peppermint extract in it’s place but extract is stronger so you will need less. Whichever one you use, start with just a few drops and stir, add more as needed until you get to the smell strength that you prefer.  I made mint sugar scrub for my mother-in-law this Christmas and she was elated. It was a huge hit. My kids stole the leftovers from it and are now begging for me to make them some more. I probably should since it actually inspired them to bathe well.  The other day I found this sugar scrub recipe at Stephanie Rose Know s and without a doubt, it’s on the list of things I need to make for valentine’s day. This might even be the perfect gift for my oldest two girls. You can find the recipe here Rose Oil Body Scrub - simple to make and leaves you smelling like roses. If you want to get a little fancier, you can try this whipped lavender sugar scrub from The Grant Life.   It makes me want to get fancy. You can find the recipe here. Lemon Rosemary Sugar Scrub from Imperial Sugar I tried this lemon rosemary sugar scrub recipe a few weeks ago and it is gorgeous, not to mention smells amazing.  Go ahead and try it. Then come back and tell me how addicted you are to making sugar scrubs. It’s ok – it happens to the best of us.
