Frequently Asked Questions

If I start with a Chiropractor do I have to go the rest of my life ?
At Ed Camp Chiropractic, I try to teach you how to take care of yourself so you can maintain your health with the least amount of Chiropractic intervention. Even though I haven’t had a dental problem in 10 years, my dentist keeps me coming back for checkups. Chiropractors fix problems and then do our best to keep new ones from developing. Chiropractic can also be preventative care just like going to the dentist. Even when you feel great, an occasional checkup keeps you functioning at your best.

Does chiropractic hurt?
The answer here is no. If the area we are treating is sensitive, the point that we adjust can be a little sore for a moment. Usually, people with acute conditions feel relief within minutes of their adjustment. Usually there is no pain whatsoever, and patients look forward to their adjustments.

How long does it take?

Each treatment session takes about 45 minutes to an hour. (If you are shopping potential Chiropractors, please ask them how much time the initial exam and subsequent visits will last as it varies with every clinic and I am confident you will find my pricing and attention to detail competitive.)

Each visit, you will receive your adjustment, traction, deep tissue massage or interferential current, a modality that reduces swelling spasm and pain. This three/four pronged approach has been proven highly effective in providing longer lasting relief than the abbreviated treatments at most offices.

How many visits does it take?
This depends on your particular condition. However, the national average is six to nine visits. Dr. Camp will better be able to predict how many visits are necessary after your first examination.

Is chiropractic safe?
Many study’s over the years have concluded that injury related to chiropractic adjustment was less than 1.25 incidents per million treatments. (1) It is interesting to note that very serious complications from aspirin ingestion were 3,000 per one million patients. (2) Chiropractic has been deemed one of the most conservative forms of intervention available today. Some of these studies are:

(1) The Manga Report; “A study to examine the effectiveness and cost effectiveness of Chiropractic management of low back pain, Ministry of Health, Government of Ontario Canada 1993″

(2) Recent Considerations in Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drug Gastropathy: American Journal of Medicine 1998 (July 27): 105 (1B): 31s-38s

How much does it cost?
My initial examination runs $150 dollars and you are with me for approximately two hours on that first visit. It involves a complete history of your issues, examination and your first treatment is included in that visit.

When needed, I recommend that X-rays are taken by Radnet just a few blocks down California Street. Radnet is one of the last facilities that still use actual film which is preferable as we can then view them together and go over any of the measurements needed to understand what is going on with your particular condition. Pricing on the films varies by level and you can contact Radnet directly when you have your prescription in order to get the exact pricing of the films.

There is no charge for Dr. Camp to interpret the results and no charge for a report of findings.

Individual visits run from $60 dollars depending on the nature of the visit, and I do have a volume discount if multiple visits are needed.
