I wanted to give you a feel for what you will experience on your first visit to my office.  It is my belief that the first visit is the most important to your treatment and provides me with the information that will determine the direction we take your care.

First I’ll surprise you and actually read your paperwork then as questions about the information that you provide in the documentation. This determines what we’ll be looking at during the  examination process. The medical interview will take from fifteen minutes to a half an hour based on the complexity of your case.

After going over the details of your case, we will spend about an hour doing a detailed examination. This will include measuring  range of motion, examining the differing factors of what has caused your problem be it trauma, repetitive stress or even your work station ergonomics. This will be followed with a battery of orthopedic tests, strength, and neurological testing.

When this is completed, I’ll give you a fifteen to thirty minute explanation of what I believe is your problem, and how I propose to help you with your condition

If your issues are out of my area of expertise this is where I’d make the proper referral to someone who can help.

This process is followed by your first treatment which will include the Chiropractic manipulations you would expect, and some muscle work that you may not.  More often than not I also include some physical therapy modality such as E-Stim to reduce spasm, swelling and pain.

I also offer a postural correction program which would add traction to repair structural changes that may have taken place over the years, and are often a major part of patients’ pain syndromes particularly in the chronic pain patients who have had multiple episodes of the same problem.

I hope this information is helpful and saves you some time and energy on your first visit with me. Please feel free to call me at my office if you have any questions as you are filling out the paperwork.

Thank you for reading this and I look forward to being of service to you.
