mercedes-amg gla 45 (1)

The wraps of the second-generation Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 compact sport utility vehicle were just removed. The unveiling of the auto happened before its scheduled debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show in March.

Performance

mercedes-amg gla 45 (19)

The AMG GLA 45 is equipped with the same 2.0-liter turbo inline-four power unit found in the Mercedes-AMG A 45 and Mercedes-AMG CLA 45. Same as its low-stance siblings, the engine of the SUV has an output rated at 382 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. The power goes to the 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system and managed through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The setup lets the SUV sprint from zero to 62 mph in mere 4.3 seconds. Meanwhile, the maximum speed of the auto is electronically-limited at 155 mph.

The upcoming Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 S will be topping the output of the newly-released SUV model with its output totaling 415 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque.

Exterior

mercedes-amg gla 45 (11)

The AMG GLA 45 distances itself from the standard Mercedes-Benz GLA with its Panamericana-styled front grille, new forged wheels, black accents, more aggressive front bumper, and AMG badges. The aero elements mostly copy the ones found in the AMG A 45 and AMG CLA 45.

Interior

Entering the compact SUV reveals twin digital displays on the dashboard with the MBUX multimedia system integrated on it. The software allows the driver to issue voice and gesture commands to the infotainment system of the auto. Furthermore, the AMG GLA 45 is fitted with all the goodies found in the AMG A 45 and AMG CLA 45 like the multi-function steering wheel, jet turbine-inspired air vents, and aluminum accents.

Lastly, the upholstery is covered in black MB-Tex and Dinamica leather with red stitching, red seatbelts, and carbon-fiber trim. Through the optional AMG Performance Package, buyers can add MB-Tex Neva Grey and Black upholstery with aluminum accents plus more leather options.

New Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4MATIC+ Shooting Brake Combines Compact And Performance

Der neue Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4MATIC+ Shooting Brake The new Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4MATIC+ Shooting Brake

The new Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4MATIC+ Shooting Brake is something never before seen in the auto industry. For one, it made a compact sedan perform in the level of a performance class. And more importantly, it now has AMG Torque Control.

This feature allows for selective power distribution to the wheels on the rear axle of the vehicle. In this system, the power distributed to the left and right rear wheels are flexible and comes at different ratios, depending on the given driving situation. This results in better traction, no matter what the driving conditions are, or the course being taken by the car.

There’s also a new Drift mode, which is standard on the S-Model but included in the AMG Dynamic Plus Package that’s optional for the base model.

Exterior

Der neue Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4MATIC+ Shooting Brake The new Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4MATIC+ Shooting Brake

The exterior of the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4MATIC+ Shooting Brake appeals to the sportier drivers. It has a long bonnet, muscular shoulders, greenhouse with coupé-style window line, and a low rear end. Of course, the AMG-specific radiator grille with the vertical slats clearly identifies the Shooting Brake as part of the Mercedes-AMG family.

Engine

Der neue Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4MATIC+ Shooting Brake The new Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4MATIC+ Shooting Brake

The Mercedes-AMG 2.0-litre engine is currently the world’ s most powerful turbocharged four-cylinder manufactured for series production. But Mercedes-AMG made it better by adding 40 more horsepower, bringing the total to 421 horsepower (for the S-Model) and 500 Newton meters. The base model brings 387 horsepower.

The CLA 45 S 4MATIC+ Shooting Brake requires just 4.0 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h while the base model CLA 45 4MATIC+ Shooting Brake needs 4.1 seconds. The base model’s top speed has an electronic limit of 250 km/h while the S-Model goes up to 270 km/h.

New Mercedes-AMG A 45 Powers To 400+HP For 2019

The next-generation Mercedes -AMG A 45 will once again be the most powerful hot hatch when it arrives in 2019. Officially, it will dethrone the 394-horsepower Audi RS 3. Within the Mercedes lineup, the A 45 will be the top of the range even after the launch of the standard A-Class and the 302-horsepower AMG A 35.

Mercedes has now given us a hint of what’s to come in a Christmas-themed teaser video released on the Mercedes-AMG channel on YouTube. In the video, the A 45 showed off its power on a cold and slippery test track, demonstrating its versatility through plenty of oversteer and cone-crushing.

On the front and rear, we can see the extended wheel arches, along with the quad exhaust pipes and the large roof spoiler that signifies the A 45 as the new performance flagship of the A-Class range. AMG experienced huge success with the previous A 45, which produces 376 horsepower. This pushed AMG boss Tobias Moers and his team to develop a new car using the A-Class architecture.

Back in 2017, Moers told Auto Express said that they are working on a new model from an entirely blank page, which means this new A 45 will not be similar to anything that AMG has in its lineup. The previous AMG A 45 was once the world’s most powerful hatch, thanks to its 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo that makes only 355 horsepower when it was launched but was eventually upgraded to 376 horsepower.

This new car will be more powerful than that, Moers said. When asked if the output will be more than 400, he said: “Yes, I think so.”

Like its predecessor, this new model will have a four-wheel drive and dual-clutch gearbox. The performance and output alone will pit this against the Audi RS 3 and the BMW M2 Coupe.

3 Things We Learned About the 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster

mercedes-amg gt r roadster (2)

Mercedes-AMG is finally making a top-down version of the GT R—following the footsteps of the GT C version and the GT S Roadster. There have been rumors that the Germans are planning a top-down version of the Mercedes-AMG GT R, and now, it looks like they are coming true.

Spy shots of the 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster have been leaked as the car made its first testing session.

1. Exterior

mercedes-amg gt r roadster (4)

The GT R Roadster will be similar to the coupe version from the waist down. The AMG grille with chromed out vertical slats and big Mercedes emblem are very recognizable even through the camouflaged photos.

The big difference will be with what happens from the waist up. There will be a soft top, of course, as well as modifications at the rear deck. The windshield will be shorter and fully framed, there will be no rear quarter glass, and there will be roll bars behind the seats for safety purposes.

2. Interior

The interior of the GT R Roadster will be identical to the coupe, except for the unlimited headroom during open-air drives and the roll bars behind the rear seats. There will be two, manually-adjustable bucket racing seats with AMG lettering and contrasting seatbelts, flat-bottom steering wheel, and a digital instrument cluster. All of these are wrapped with Nappa leather and Dinamica microfiber treatment. There will also be a large infotainment display at the center of the stack.

3. Drivetrain

mercedes-amg gt r roadster (11)

The GT R Roadster will have a similar powertrain as the coupe version, except that its 4.0-liter Biturbo V8 engine will make 577 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. That’s an increase of 74 ponies and 35 pound-feet of torque over the same engine in the GT S. The Roadster will be a bit slower in reaching the 60-mph sprint by 0.1 seconds. The coupe can reach this by 3.5 seconds while the GT R Roadster will likely take 3.6 seconds. The top speed is estimated to be at 198 mph.

$1.2 Million Mercedes-AMG G63 Limo Has Bulletproof Body

You never know when you’ll need a bulletproof vehicle and if you ever do, take a look at the Mercedes-AMG G63 . It’s a limousine with a bulletproof exterior and lavish amenities in the cabin. You can never go wrong with this armored sport utility vehicle.

You may have to shell out a whopping $1.2 million in cold cash but if you need the extra protection, there’s no bulletproof vehicle more elegant than the Mercedes-AMG G63 limousine. INKAS, the Canadian maker of armored autos, is offering the G63 limousine along with a number of their other creations.

Outside, the limo is wrapped in advanced body armor, ballistic glass, and perimeter surveillance systems. There are infrared and thermal cameras that have the capacity to record local footage. These footages can then be uploaded to a secure cloud server that owners can later view.

The best feature is that the body armor can stop bullets leaving a 7.62 mm high-power rifle. The limousine can also handle explosions from two DM51 hand grenades. In other words, even the president of the United States can be safely tucked inside this vehicle.

Inside, the $1.2 million price tag brings plenty of comfortable features such as the rear seats with a massage function and fully recline. From where you seat, you will be able to control the built-in command center that operates all of the media, lighting and security functions of the SUV.

Included in the entertainment system are 4K Apple TV hooked to a 4K television, voice control capability, and a motorized bar with a chiller to keep those fuzzy champagnes chilled.

Still looking for more? The limo also comes with a daylight function that will simulate real light and reduce passenger fatigue.

The Mercedes-AMG G63 will be powered by a 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that can make 563 horsepower. Hopefully, the added features won’t make it slow and turn it sluggish.

Mercedes AMG GT 63 S Four-Door Coupe Gets Edition 1 Model

Mercedes -AMG has decided to come up with a family style model for its AMG GT 63. The Mercedes AMG GT 63 S four-door coupe will mark its launch with an Edition 1 model, complete with exclusive interior and exterior appointments for the 2019 model year.

This latest model of the AMG GT family will get all the trappings of the AMG Aerodynamics Package, including larger front splitter and integrated flics in the front bumper, optimized diffuser and fixed rear spoiler with mechanically adjustable angle.

The paintwork in designo Graphite Grey Magno immediately captures the attention of anyone who’ll see the car. There are AMG sports stripes in matte Graphite Grey on the sides, as well as above the side sill panels, on the hood, roof, and the decklid. Finishing off the whole look is the 21-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels painted in matte black and with a high-sheen finish.

Inside the car, you’ll find AMG multicontour performance seats with memory package. These are upholstered in exclusive Nappa leather in Magma Grey/Black with yellow contrasting topstitching. Topping off the whole look of the seats are yellow seatbelts. Even the door center panels and armrests in the door and the center console are in Nappa leather in Magma Grey.

The AMG performance steering wheel is in DINAMICA microfiber with yellow contrasting topstitching, yellow 12 o’clock marking, and “Edition 1” badge. Other important things to note are the illuminated AMG door sill panels and the floor mats in black with the AMG badge.

The Edition 1 is exclusive to the GT 63 S four-door’s top-of-the-range model, which features the handcrafted AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine with an output of 630 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. It has a top speed of 195 mph and can go 0 to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds.

Pagani Huayra Bids Farewell As It Enters Final Production Phase

pagani huayra

The final Pagani Huayra coupe is entering production, which means this would be the last time we’re going to see an inch of the sports car. The Italian luxury carmaker will finish the final iteration of the Huayra in about two months, reports from duPont Registry said recently.

This final car is the 100 th example of the Huayra. Yes, there’s exactly 100 Huayras out there. You just don’t know it since these are obviously owned by the rich and famous. Like the previous 99 models, the final Huayra will feature a Mercedes-AMG built 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-12 engine that produces 700 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque.

It makes sense for Pagani to end the coupe’s run after seven years. Pagani inked an agreement for the supply of AMG engines for just 100 units, which signals this 100 th example of the Huayra. Remember that the first supercar was launched in 2011 as a follow-up to the equally capable Zonda.

The final Huayra, marking the last AMG unit to be delivered from the German automaker, will be called the “Il Ultimo.” This will be especially produced and dedicated to Brett David, the chief executive officer of Prestige Imports. As such, it will have a “German flare” in honor of the hypercar’s AMG-sourced engine.

pagani huayra coupe

To further bring acknowledgement to its German roots, the final Huayra will bear the livery colors on Lewis Hamilton’s F1 car, a Mercedes. On the Huayra, the color scheme is stunning and jaw-dropping. It used subdued gray as the primary hue and turquoise-aqua will be used for interior striping, the mirrors, and the tire sidewalls. The interior will receive a similar treatment. Turquoise and gray colors will cover the dashboard, the doors, and the center console. The seats will be covered in white leather.

Pagani CEO and founder Horacio Pagani made it clear that Pagani is going to continue. It’s just the Huayra that’s going to make its farewell. The car’s successor will “embody pure driving,” will not rely on electrification, and will still have a manual transmission.

Top 4 Reasons for You to Buy the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe

What happens when you combine the winning formulas of the Mercedes-Benz CLS and the Mercedes-AMG GT? You get the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. This is the reason why there was so much hype surrounding the high-performance car’s world premiere and why it was flocked by people since the press days of the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.

Mercedes is yet to reveal the pricing of the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. However, it is already given that it will be very expensive considering it will take on the $85,000 to $194,800 Porsche Panamera . What we know so far is that it will roll out for buyers in mid-2018.

So why should you spend your hard earned cash for it? Here are four reasons why you should put the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe in your checklist if you are looking to buy a high-performance luxury car:

1. Unique Addition to the Mercedes-AMG GT Family

The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe successfully makes itself stand out from the Mercedes-AMG GT family with its distinct four-door feature. The rest of its siblings from the base GT going up to the GT R have two-door designs.

2. Athletic and Classy Design

The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door is defined by its long bonnet, Panamericana front grille, squinting Multibeam LED headlamps, jetwing front bumper design, huge air ducts, thin taillights, rear diffuser, low greenhouse, retractable rear wing, quadruple exhaust tips, and a combination of AMG performance wheels and tires. On the other hand, its curvaceous and smooth exterior is an excellent manifestation of Mercedes’ “Sensual Purity” design philosophy.

3. Luxurious Aura

The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe also carries the DNA of the Mercedes-Benz CLS. If you strip away all the Mercedes-AMG GT elements of the four-door high-performance car leaving only its shell, it can be noticed that its form is all too similar to the Mercedes-AMG CLS 53. That’s because both are riding on the E-Class platform.

The interior of the two only vary in layout but you can find that most of the tech within the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe are just spiced up versions of the ones found in the E-Class and CLS. However, the arrangement of the controls of the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe follows its AMG GT siblings.

4. Performance

The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe is available in three performance configurations and its power is governed by an AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission. It starts with the Mercedes-AMG GT 53 4MATIC with 3.0-liter inline-six that can deliver 435 hp combined with EQ Boost providing it an extra 22 hp, and 520 Nm of torque. Next is the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC equipped with a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine capable of delivering 585 hp and 800 Nm of torque.

The top trim of the range is the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+. It has the engine of the AMG GT 63 4MATIC but with an upgrade that lets it produce 639 hp and 900 Nm of torque. The auto can reach speeds of up to 310 km/h, and its 0-100 km/h acceleration can be achieved in merely 3.4 seconds.

Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon: The Fastest Wagon in the World

mercedes-amg e63 wagon (4)

The Mercedes -AMG E63 S Wagon is not your average family car. Beneath its luxurious exterior lies an engine with a performance that can beat even the likes of the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro.

Performance

According to Mercedes-Benz USA , the Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon is the fastest station wagon in the world. Beneath the hood of the car rests a handcrafted AMG 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. The unit has an output of 603 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque at 2,500 to 4,500 rpm. The auto operates on a 4MATIC all-wheel drive configuration. Then, its power is distributed through an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-speed transmission that uses a wet clutch.

Putting the pedal to the metal will allow the Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon to reach 60 mph from a complete stop in just 3.4 seconds. That beats the acceleration of the Mustang and the Camaro. On the other hand, the maximum speed of the auto is electronically-capped at 180 mph.

Mercedes noted that when the car was tested by a journalist at the Nordschleife of the Nuerburgring track, it conquered the whole circuit with its lap time of 7:45.19.

Design

The Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon is the high-performance version of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon. Therefore, it has all the signature look of Mercedes’ midrange luxury vehicle such as the curvaceous corners, glossy finish and striking body lines. Its appeal is further highlighted by its improved stance, thanks to AMG’s suspension; jet wing-inspired front bumper complete with air intakes; rear diffuser; rear lip spoiler at the roofing; quad exhaust tips; and chrome horizontal grille with black vertical slats in the background.

The most noticeable part of the E63 S Wagon is its 12.3-inch digital display. The gauges also come in carbon fiber look to enhance the sporty elements of the car’s cockpit. Moreover, it has AMG Performance Seats and Steering Wheel as well as nappa leather surfaces.

Pricing

The Mercedes-AMG E63 S has a starting price of $106,950, excluding its $995 delivery and destination fees.

3 Things We Learned From The 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT 4 Spy Shots

We saw the concept for the 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT 4 back during the Geneva auto show in March, and to say we’re excited is quite an understatement. Last week, spy shots and video of its prototype showed that the standalone sedan is already in the late stage of development.

The production version will closely resemble and will stand similar to the concept shown in March. This looks to be beneficial for people who caught up with the craze of the concept.

1. Release date

The standalone sedan, which will be called the Mercedes-AMG GT 4 based on sources , will be on sale starting 2018 as a 2019 model year. This is AMG’s third standalone model just after the GT sports car and the Project One hypercar, which should have launched by next year.

Mercedes will also be releasing a new generation of CLS, which means an internal competition among these cars.

2. Exterior

The sexy lines of the GT sports car will be slapped on the Mercedes-AMG GT 4. The difference is that the headlights will have an angular shape and the hood has been shortened in length. Since this is a sedan, the wheelbase was stretched and there are two extra doors for the rear passengers.

The massive rear spoiler, unfortunately, can’t be seen yet because of the ultra-secretive way this has been camouflaged. But based on the overall look of the car, the concept will be a good foundation to render how the rear side would look like.

The sedan will use the MRA rear-wheel-drive architecture we usually see on the latest C- and E-Class instead of stretching the GT sports car’s aluminum spaceframe architecture. But to make the rear-wheel-drive architecture compatible to the AMG, it needs to be strengthened and made more weightless.

3. Drivetrain

Mercedes will use AMG’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine to produce 500 horsepower. Though the concept showed a hybrid system, it is highly unlikely that we’ll see this during the launch. However, a hybrid system with an output of 805 horsepower will be possibly available for a range-topping version of the sedan.
