Bugatti Celebrates 110th Year With New Special Edition Chiron
Happy 110 th anniversary to Bugatti! To commemorate this special occasion in the history of one of the world’s most luxurious carmaker, Bugatti made an ultra-limited and mega-expensive new special edition Chiron that will just be available in 20 units.
Called the “110 ans Bugatti,” the car is such a colorful package it will remind you of the Pagani and the Lamborghini, both of which have always equipped their supercars with the livery of their flag—the Italian’s white, red, and green. The new Chiron is going further seeing as owes its existence to a mixture of German, Italian, and French geniuses.
Originally founded by an Italian, Bugatti is now a France-based and German-owned brand that made its special edition Chiron wave the blue-white-red flag with a number of tri-color touches. Based on the mighty Chiron Sport, the new Chiron is offering a number of upgrades from the regular Chiron (though in normal circumstances, nothing is ordinary about a Bugatti Chiron).
The special edition car comes with an upgraded exhaust, additional carbon-fiber bodywork, and lightweight wheels. It is 40 pounds lighter than a standard car, making the handling easier and more manageable. It also has 10 percent stiffer springs and revised steering wheel and rear differential.
As for the engine, it will come with the same quad-turbocharged W-16 that makes a whopping 1,479 horsepower. Honestly, it couldn’t be any better.
The car’s exterior is wrapped in raw carbon fiber covered with a dark matte coat of Steel Blue paint and some matte black trim and exterior componentry. The French-flag theme is on the side mirror caps and underneath the large rear wing and airbrake. Of course, it has a special badging to separate it from the rest of the “commoners.” The special edition Chiron carries the “110 ans” badge on the fuel filler cap.
Inside, the same badge is on the headrests though the rest of the cabin is almost the same as the regular Chiron. It’s done in the same deep blue color as the exterior with a tri-color stripe running down the center of each seat. A small French flag is also on the steering wheel.
Bugatti Divo: The Chiron’s Angry Cousin
Bugatti has finally revealed the Divo and just like that, we can say with absolute certainty that this is a redesigned and more powerful Chiron. It looks exactly like the Chiron except that the Divo has a meaner face, more muscular front hood, corner-mounted headlights, aggressive side skirts, and 1,500 insane horsepower.
The muscular body of the Bugatti Divo was intended for a number of crazy aerodynamic features such as its 1,005 pounds of downforce. That’s 198 pounds more than the standard model. To do this, Bugatti has to make the rear spoiler 23-percent wider than the standard Chiron.
Under the hood, the Divo has an 8.0-liter W-16 unit that can deliver a coldhearted 1,500 horsepower. That’s 30 more than the Chiron. Pair that up with the Divo’s new aerodynamics setting, then that would mean a capacity to generate a lateral acceleration of 1.6 g once you put the pedal to the metal. The top speed would be 236 mph, 25 mph slower than the Chiron’s maximum speed of 261 mph. That’s primarily because Bugatti made the Divo for better handling and agility around the corners.
Even with less the top speed of the Chiron, the Divo is reportedly “eight seconds faster about the Nardo handling circuit”. We’re assuming the figure is compared to the standard Chiron and not the Chiron Sport.
Stephen Winkelmann, president of Bugatti, explained that the modern Bugatti is known for hitting the perfect balance between “high performance, straight-line dynamics, and luxurious comfort.” The Divo wants to change that as it focuses on “lateral acceleration, agility, and cornering.” Simply put, the Divo “is made for corners.”
Inside, the brand wants something different for the Divo. It has a funky, two-tone color scheme that includes a bright colored Alcantara on the driver’s side and a tone-down grey-black Alcantara on the passenger side.
There will only be 40 units of the Divo. Each of those 40 units has already been reserved for a whopping €5 million ($5.8 million).
Bugatti Chiron Caught Testing in Nurburgring
The Bugatti Chiron is all about power. That is the reason why the hypercar does not come cheap. With a $3 million price tag, the vehicle packs a mean engine. Recently, it was spotted while being tested in Nurburgring.
The Chiron is already being delivered to customers. So it is quite unusual to see it doing rounds in the endurance track. Normally, vehicles being driven in Nurburgring are those that are yet to be sold. Does this mean that we will see updates in the auto?
The Chiron carries an 8.0-liter W16 engine with quad turbocharger. The unit produces a mind-blowing 1,500 hp and 1,180 lb-ft of torque. The output is distributed by a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with manual mode. The configuration allows the vehicle to run from zero to 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds and achieve a top speed of 261 mph.
The passenger of the Chiron in the video appears to be holding a laptop. That is strange since we already have the official figures of the hypercar’s performance.
It is possible that Bugatti might be developing a special edition of the Chiron. It should be noted that the Veyron had taken that direction numerous times in the past. One of the special edition models produced under the range was the 268 mph Super Sport model that got the distinction of being the fastest production car in the world.
If that is true, the updates in the auto will likely be in the power only as everything in the spied hypercar’s exterior looks the same as the existing model of the Chiron.
According to Road and Track , they already tried reaching Bugatti for comments about the car in the video. The company is yet to respond to their inquiry.

Bugatti Chiron In NYC For Private Show
The Bugatti Chiron made its debut last month at the Geneva Auto Show, but it was absent during the 2016 New York Motor Show in late March. Bugatti’s new 1,480-horsepower hypercar will replace the Veyron.
Although the Chiron was not present during the NY Auto Show, it wasn’t really far from the action as the same blue example shown in Geneva was spotted parked at the curb in the Big Apple according to Motor Authority .
The photo shown was posted on Facebook by a Bugatti Chiron fan. The hypercar’s front trunk was even unlatched.
It wasn’t clear why the Chiron was in New York when it didn’t attend the motor show to begin with, but it was more likely there to be privately presented to prospective buyers who flocked in Manhattan for the NYIAS.
Chiron has been enjoying massive demand and orders. During the car’s launch in Geneva last month, it claimed a third of the planned 500-unit production. The starting price is at 2.4 million Euros, in case you’re interested. That’s roughly $2.73 million.
With the price tag, Bugatti said the car is actually making a profit compared with the Veyron, which was rumored to have been selling at a loss.
The Chiron has an 8.0-liter W-16 engine with a two-stage turbocharging system. There are four turbos, with two designed to be always on while the two other are electrically actuated when the driver wants more acceleration.
That engine churns out 1,500 horsepower and 1,180 pound-feet of torque. It’s more powerful than the Veyron, but the acceleration is just 2.5 seconds to 62 mph. the top speed is 260 mph, but Chiron is aiming for more with a “top speed more” that can be activated by a special key.
The company calls the headlights up front an “eight-eye face” with an active wing on the rear for the air brake. It also has 20-inch wheels on front and 21-inche wheels at the rear, as well as eight titanium brake pistons at the front and six at the rear.
Bugatti Chiron Usurps The Veyron As The World’s Fastest Car
The day has finally come when the Bugatti Veyron is no longer the world’s fastest production car. The usurper came from within—in the form of Bugatti Chiron that caused £1.9 million.
According to Top Gear , the Chiron retains the Veyron’s fundamental proportions and powertrains, but is also new in every way and is built to bend physics almost to breaking point. But unlike Veyron’s closest competitors—the McLaren P1, LaFerrari and Porsche 918—the Chiron is not a hybrid but relies on the use of fossil fuels.
It has an engine developed from the Veyron’s 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16, a seven-speed twin-clutch gearbox, and it makes use of all four wheels.
Wolfgang Durheimer, Bugatti’s CEO, explained that they could not produce the Chiron as a hybrid because it would’ve added weight and it would’ve suffered from package constraints. The Chiron doesn’t have space anymore for additional stuff, and adding space would’ve changed the styling.
With Chiron, Bugatti raised the power by 25 percent, the aerodynamics, the road holding, and the top speed. Remember the Veyron Super Sport? That produces 1183 bhp and 1106 lb-ft of torque. Chiron comes with 1479 bhp and 1180 lb-ft of torque. At a constant top speed, Veyron could drain its 100-litre fuel tank in 12 minutes. The Chiron can do that in 9 minutes tops.
The Chiron can also accelerate from 0-62 mph in less than 2.5 seconds, 0-124 mph in less than 6.5 seconds and 0-186 mph under 13.6 seconds—the last one shows Chiron’s 2.9 seconds faster than the P1 and a second quicker than the Veyron Super Sport.
At top speed, the Chiron can do 261 mph, 3 mph more than the Veyron Super Sport. Its engine has four larger turbos that can deliver the maximum torque from 2000 to 6000 rpm. It also packs a new titanium exhaust system and six exit pipes—four at the back and two pointing downwards to create a blown diffuser.
