Director’s Message
I am delighted to address you as the acting Director of the newly established Thumbay Institute of Population Health (TIPH). This moment marks the inception of a transformative journey towards advancing the health and well-being of communities on a national scale. It is with great pride and anticipation that I lead this institute, and I feel privileged to collaborate with each of you in this undertaking.
Establishing the TIPH is a testament to our commitment to positively impacting public health. This institute is envisioned to be a hub of innovation, research excellence, and community engagement, addressing the myriad challenges that impact the health of the population. The primary goal is to bring together the brightest minds in population health, fostering an environment of collaboration. We will leverage multidisciplinary approaches, drawing on expertise from diverse fields, including epidemiology, demography, health policy, Evidence-based public health and more. This convergence of knowledge will drive us towards innovative solutions that can effectively address society’s complex health issues.
Public health research will be at the heart of our institute. We are committed to conducting studies that generate cutting-edge knowledge and have tangible, real-world applications. Through our work, we aim to influence policy, guide healthcare practices, and ultimately improve the health outcomes of communities worldwide. Education and capacity-building will also be central to our mission. We will cultivate the next generation of public health leaders, providing them with the skills, knowledge, and critical thinking abilities necessary to address the evolving challenges of population health. Community engagement and outreach activities will form the cornerstone of our efforts. We recognize that true progress in population health requires active participation from the communities we serve. We will work closely with local, national, and global stakeholders, forging partnerships that empower individuals and communities to take charge of their health and well-being.
