It’s hard to believe that we are only a few days away from closing out 2018. Anyone else feel this way too? Overall it’s been a good year. We’ve made amazing things together and spilled a ton of glitter. The perk to spilling glitter all year long is that your house is already decorated for New Years Eve.

Today let’s join with the rest of the internet and do a wrap-up of the most popular crafts from here on Clumsy Crafter. Plus, read all the way to the bottom and you’ll find out what my favorite posts from this year have been.

So let’s get started.

The Most Popular Crafts on Clumsy Crafter in 2018

1 – 43 Funny Kitchen Towel Sayings

Not only is this one of the most popular post from this year but it’s one of the all-time most popular posts on Clumsy Crafter. That’s CRAZY because I published this post in September, which means that it’s just a baby when it comes to the internet. However it went viral on Pinterest and the rest is just history.

2 – VBS Game ON Craft Ideas

VBS Sports craft ideas

My church asked me this year to come up with some possible craft ideas for Vacation Bible School in advance and share them with the other VBS teachers. Of course I had to share with you guys as well. This is a great post to look for Super Bowl craft ideas or to save to use for VBS crafts this year.

3 – How to Make a Floating Glitter Necklace

I am still head over heels in love with these. I wear mine all the time and one of my friends in this area has started making them to sell. This is a great craft to work on during cold winter nights when you’re stuck inside and need something bright and shiny in your life.

4 – DIY Fascinators

We had the best time making these . Not only are they one of the most popular posts on this blog this year, it’s one of my best memories from this year with my kids. After we had made them we did a huge pretend photoshoot, even the dogs were involved. These are just plain fun. Make them for a tea party or even as a personal revolt against upcoming sporting events. Plus since this is a dollar store craft – you can make a lot of them for barely any money.

5 – Baseball Craft for Kids

This was actually one of the crafts from the VBS crafts post but because I loved how it turned out, I made it to a separate post that other people loved as well. This is a really cute idea that you can use with any sports ball but the fingerprint red baseball laces on this one kinda have my heart.

6 – DIY Snowman – Dollar Store Craft

This one is also shocking to be in the top crafts for this year because this has only been up on Clumsy Crafter for a month! But it’s a great craft that’s fun to make and cheap since I got everything at the Dollar Store. Plus since winter is still kickin’ (north of Houston anyway) you can still make this even though it’s past Christmas.

As much as I loved making all those crafts, they’re not my FAVORITES. So what are my personal favorite crafts from this year?

My Personal Favorite Crafts from 2018:

1 – The Pigeon Craft – Paint Your Own Pigeon

Cute idea to turn the pigeon from Mo Willem's Pigeon series into an easy craft for kids

I love, love, loved this craft because my daughter was so proud of it. Plus these are her all-time favorite books. Whenever I look back at her childhood, Mo Willems books will be a huge part of that memory. We also have done a few more Mo Willems characters since the Pigeon using the same process.

2 – Upcycling Craft – From Junk Jars to Wow! Vases

I just loved them then and I still do now. Plus this led to one of my other favorite crafts from this year – The Watercolor Effect Christmas Ornaments using Alcohol Ink.

3 – Printing with Potatoes

This. I’m a romantic at heart – big time. The simple heart prints on this tea towel just make me so happy. Plus the best news is that I just ordered some new blank tea towels because I have a new plan.

4 – Harvard Law (Just Kidding) T-Shirt with Free Cut File

As my kids get older, it’s hard to impress them with crafts. You give a 3 year old a handmade dinosaur from felt and you’re the coolest person on earth. If you give a similar gift to a teen, you just get a free eye-roll for all of your hard work. However I made my daughter this sweatshirt and she fell in love with it (and wore it in public!).

5 – Pool Noodle Monsters

Fun Kid's Craft Idea! Pool Noodle Monsters using supplies from the Dollar Store

These are still on my youngest daughter’s dresser and I love how much she loves them. They’re so fun and easy to make. Plus we used all supplies from the Dollar Store. You could make a ton of them for barely any money. Pull an old pool noodle out of your garage, add a few kids craft supplies and glue and you have fun for kids of all ages.

6 – How to Make a Hoop Wreath with Wire

DIY Hoop Wreath with roses

This year I put up three tutorials to help you make your own hoop wreaths. I love how simple they are to make yet they have just the right about of personality and pizzazz.

In order of my favorites, here’s the individual posts:

  1. Macrame Tulip Hoop Wreath – Perfect for Easter / Spring
  2. Fall Hoop Wreath – Darker Colors with a Splash
  3. How to Make a Hoop Wreath Using Wire – With Video Instructions

Let’s be honest, I could keep going for awhile listing my favorites. I am proud of what I accomplished this year and I can’t wait for you to keep going with me in 2019.

What you’re going to see this coming year on Clumsy Crafter:

1– More video! If you don’t know (most don’t because I haven’t said anything) – I tried to post to my YouTube channel more this year.

2 – More IGTV Stories on Instagram AND more FB Live posts on my FB page .

I can’t wait to start creating in 2019! Get out the glue and glitter – It’s time!
